In Florida, it is required by law to get an ultrasound before an abortion. An ultrasound will give important details that can protect your girlfriend’s health, such as how far along the pregnancy is (the gestational age), whether the pregnancy is developing, and the location of the pregnancy.
The gestational age of her pregnancy is important, as the abortion pill is only approved through ten weeks gestation by the FDA.
